Second LongHorn Steakhouse to hit Lancaster County next month

Lancaster County is getting another LongHorn Steakhouse.

The chain is slated to open its newest location at 2310 Lincoln Highway East in East Lampeter Township on Sept. 12.

Heading up the restaurant is seven-year LongHorn veteran Matthew Higgins as managing partner.

With a location at the Park City Center shopping mall in Lancaster, the East Lampeter spot is the second location to hit Lancaster County.

The 6,019-square-foot restaurant will seat more than 200 people. Company officials say it will create more than 60 new jobs in the community.

Headquartered in Atlanta, the casual-dining chain was founded in 1981. It has 504 restaurants across the country and averages annual sales of $1.7 billion, according to filings with the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission.

It is owned by Darden Restaurants Inc. which owns and operates approximately 1,746 restaurants across the country including Olive Garden and several other restaurant chains, according to SEC filings.
