Founder, Chairman & CEO
The Benecon Group
Through his leadership and selection of a top-tier executive team, Lombardo creates partnerships with insurance carriers and the brokerage market across the country and continues to carry out his vision of helping employers effectively control benefit plan expenditures and design self-funded medical benefit programs that meet their strategic needs.
Lombardo founded The Benecon Group in April 1991.
He is proud to be a four-time recipient of INC Magazine’s exclusive “500 Fastest-Growing Companies in America” award given to leaders who demonstrate excellence in annual revenue and overall growth. In 2007, he received an honorary Doctorate degree from Millersville University, and in 2020, the Lombardo College of Business was established at Millersville University.
The most important life lesson he’s learned is never be discouraged by the naysayers. “I like to say that there are ‘good mentors’ and ‘bad mentors’. Be cautious of the advice that people tend to dole out. Too often, people are well-intentioned, but they won’t necessarily provide good advice. Trust yourself and rely on your own intuition,” Lombardo said.
He is a racing and driving member of the Palm Beach Driving Club at the Palm Beach International Raceway and an avid supercar collector. His is also a restaurateur who is carrying out his family’s legacy of owning and operating Lombardo’s; Lancaster’s beloved Italian-American restaurant established in 1946.
