“I sold 70% of Benecon/ConnectCare3 in December 2020 to TA Associates,” said its founder and chairman emeritus, Sam Lombardo. “After one year of continuing as CEO and chairman of the board, I resigned to my new title. My current position is an investor in the companies I built from scratch.”
He said his history of building Benecon has been challenging since its inception in April 1991. “Bootstrapping a company from zero revenue in 1988 to $3 billion dollars is an overwhelming achievement, and I owe my success to bringing in exceptional talent. As an entrepreneur, cultivating that overwhelming talent delivered wonderful results. The results are the volume, retention and profitability.”
