York County-based Rutter’s Farm Stores plans to double the size of its store at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Route 30 in York as part of a $4 million project.

York County-based Rutter’s Farm Stores plans to double the size of its store at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Route 30 in York as part of a $4 million project.

The company purchased the former Concentra building to the west of the store and the building where Collectors Toys & Trains operates to the south of the store to make way for the expansion. All three buildings will be demolished and a new 5,000-square-foot store with 16 fueling spots and an automatic car wash will be built.

The project is set to begin in early 2008, pending city approvals. Rutter’s operates 51 convenience stores in York, Adams, Franklin and Lancaster counties.
