Casual dining chain Ruby Tuesday, which has nine midstate restaurants, said it plans to close 95 underperforming restaurants by next month.
The chain did not say which locations will close as company sales have dropped and management works to revamp the menu and customer experience.
“The decision to close restaurants is a difficult but necessary step as we take aggressive actions to strengthen our organization,” said JJ Buettgen, the company’s president and CEO.
Ruby Tuesday had 724 restaurants at the end of May. The company operated 646 of them. Others are franchised.
The chain has four restaurants in York County, three in Lancaster County and one each in Dauphin and Lebanon counties.
The Tennessee-based company trades its shares on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol RT.
