Ronald L Hershner
Managing Partner
Stock and Leader PC
In his role as managing partner, Hershner’s duties include inspiring and motivating colleagues to achieve their best in service to the firm’s clients and its community. Other duties are to constantly think strategically, and to focus on the long term and prepare the firm for changes and challenges.
He’s been with the firm for 20 years, and he’s focused his practice in the areas of business transactions, estate and business planning, and commercial real estate acquisitions, leasing and finance. Although he is stepping down from the managing partner role February 28 and returning to full-time practice, he will remain on the firm’s management committee.
There are many professional accomplishments that he’s proud of: Counseling entrepreneurs from start-up to sale or succession, some through three generations. Supporting YCIDA and YCEA in the Yorktowne Hotel project. Numerous downtown development projects for public and private developers.
He said the most important life lesson is “what George Bailey learned in ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’: You never fully realize how many lives you touch and influence.” “The greatest reward comes from mentoring and helping others and then seeing them succeed. So always model the behavior you wish to see in others,” Hershner said.
For fun he enjoys traveling to new places (can’t do that now); staying in historic hotels (can’t do that now); eating in great restaurants (can’t do that now), but reading, writing and instructing on topics of American history – can do that now! “I am passionate about history, love to write and love to teach,” Hershner said.
