Partner
Stock and Leader Attorneys at Law
Hershner represents lenders and borrowers in financing transactions, focusing on business entity organizations, reorganization, merger and dissolution issues.
He is on Stock and Leader’s management committee and has served as managing partner for over a decade.
“The pace of work is most challenging,” said Hershner, a 20-year partner. “Technology has taken away the ability to reflect and think more deeply about an issue. Most rewarding is the opportunity to assist clients in achieving their goals or solving their problems. Our role is to take a client’s problem and make it our own … . Regardless of the type of law we practice, we counsel our clients through challenges that might otherwise be overwhelming … .”
Hershner credited three early mentors. “From Bud Blakey I learned the importance of the ‘business’ part of being a business lawyer. He called on me to apply practical business solutions and common-sense judgment to legal problems. Don Yost, who gave me my first job in a law office, exemplified integrity, patience and kindness. Dave Bupp taught me commercial finance and demonstrated how to bring both precision and humor to transactional work.”
