Rite Aid Corp. today reported that April same-store sales,
or sales at stores that have been open for at least one year, increased 0.5
percent when compared to the year-ago period.

Same-store sales for the four-week period that ended April
26 did not include the Brooks and Eckerd drugstore chains that the Cumberland County company acquired in June.

Total sales in April increased 46.9 percent, to $2 billion.
That number includes the Brooks and Eckerd drugstores and is up when compared
to the $1.36 billion in sales that Ride Aid reported in the year-ago period.

East Pennsboro Township-based Rite Aid shares trade on the
New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol RAD.
