As senior director of business development for The Butz Family of Companies, Seitz provides business development oversight of the company’s regional offices in Central Pennsylvania and Greater Philadelphia and manages its client relationship program.
He served as president of Alexander Building Construction from 2008 to 2019 and transitioned into his current role in 2020.
Seitz finds satisfaction in developing a relationship of trust with a client that leads to an opportunity for his company to compete for a qualifications-based construction management contract, then making sure that the company delivers what it promised and the client is pleased with the service.
He said Greg and Lee Butz have been important mentors for him. “They helped me learn the importance of community service and giving back to the community where you do business. Bill and Marion Alexander also helped me learn the importance of community service as well,” Seitz said.
“Working for a family-owned commercial/institutional construction business can be very fulfilling.
My advice is to set career goals, discuss them regularly with your manager, work hard and good opportunities will present themselves. It’s also important to develop a network of contacts with professionals you meet on your projects and in your involvement with your community,” Seitz said.
