RG Group to double operations with York expansion project

RG Group, a York firm specializing in motion control and fluid-handling services, announced Wednesday that it has broken ground for an expansion of its Flour Mill Road manufacturing and distribution center.

The new facility will provide an additional 22,500 square feet of space, including a mezzanine with a 1,250-square-foot training and conference center, according to a news release. The expansion will more than double the company’s current operations at the site, allowing for more complex packaging equipment and streamlining its distribution process, RG Group explained.

President and CEO Rich Freeh said, “We are expanding to meet the growing need of our flexible outsourced manufacturing business model. This gives us additional space for raw materials as well as the warehousing and shipping of finished goods for our partners.”

Freeh said RG Group has “faced some space constraints in the last few years.”

“We feel it’s the time to make this significant investment to better serve our customers and vendor partners,” he noted.

“For our vendor partners and customers in the distribution services business segment, the added floor space provides an opportunity to improve our productivity in the distribution center,” Freeh said.

The building expansion is expected to be completed in the second half of 2015.

Stewart & Tate Construction is the general contractor on the project.
