Officials at Harley-Davidson Inc. said a class-action lawsuit filed by shareholders is without merit, and the company will fight the case in court, according to the company’s latest SEC filing.

Officials at Harley-Davidson Inc. said a class-action lawsuit filed by shareholders is without merit, and the company will fight the case in court, according to the company’s latest SEC filing. In February, a U.S. District Court in Wisconsin consolidated several class-action lawsuits. Shareholders allege securities fraud because Harley-Davidson adjusted its targeted production from 339,000 units to 329,000 units in 2005. The company operates a plant in York County.
