US hotel development on the decline
While the number of U.S. hotels under construction was up nearly 13 percent in July compared with the same year-ago month, projects in the pipeline have fallen off, according to London-based STR Global, a leading provider of worldwide hotel market data.
Hersha acquires remaining stake in New Jersey hotel
Hersha Hospitality Trust has purchased the remaining 50 percent interest in a 130-room Courtyard by Marriott in the Ewing submarket of Princeton, N.J., for the assumption of debt and “nominal cash consideration,” the company said.

Across the country, there were 60,000 completed foreclosures in June compared with 80,000 in the same month of 2011, according to California-based real estate research firm CoreLogic.
