As it gets set to open in downtown Hershey next week, Pittsburgh-based sandwich chain Primanti Bros. is eyeing another location in Central Pennsylvania.
Lower Allen Township officials say a Primanti Bros. restaurant is slated to occupy a space in the Capital City Mall, next to the Fine Wine & Good Spirits Premium Collection store.
Also, Outback Steakhouse is in the mix for a pad site on the mall property.
A spokeswoman for Philadelphia-based mall owner PREIT said she could not comment on the details of the Primanti Bros. restaurant because a lease has not yet been signed.
But according to township meeting minutes, Primanti Bros. is in the process of acquiring a liquor license from Carlisle to transfer to the Capital City Mall location. The restaurant would have an exterior entrance from the mall parking lot.
The township’s board of commissioners is expected to discuss and take action on the license transfer at its Oct. 8 meeting.
Primanti Bros. has midstate locations in York and Lancaster counties. When it opens, the chain’s Hershey-area restaurant will be one of the anchors of the new Hershey Towne Square development on West Chocolate Avenue in Derry Township.
