In the new role, Hady will manage the operations and resources of the foundation and report to the foundation’s board of trustees.
The foundation oversees the Louis J. Appell Jr. trust. According to 2016 tax records, the foundation ended 2016 with assets of $31.9 million in book value. During the same year, the foundation gave out $2.7 million in grants.
“Michael Hady is one of the most well-respected and dedicated community servants in our area,” David Kennedy, chairman of the board of trustees, said in a statement. “His professional experience and his demonstrated devotion to the improvement of the quality of life in this region make him an ideal selection to lead our Foundation in the coming years.”
Hady has most recently been working in the field of private banking and wealth management with York Traditions Bank in York Township. He also previously worked at both Memorial Hospital, now known as UPMC Pinnacle Memorial and York Health System, now known as WellSpan Health.
“It is an honor and privilege to take this important role of stewarding the remarkable legacy of Louis Appell,” Hady said in a statement. “I am humbled by the opportunity to continue his relentless work to better the York community.”
