Pixelle acquires two specialty paper product manufacturers

Specialty paper product manufacturer Pixelle Specialty Solutions LLC completed two acquisitions that the company says will strengthen its portfolio and enhance services for new and existing customers.
Within the last week, Spring Grove, York County-based Pixelle completed acquisitions of the specialty paper business Rollsource from Veritiv Corp., and the carbonless rolls and security papers business from Appvion Operations Inc.
Pixelle’s acquisition of Rollsource includes the firm’s list of clients primarily in the printer market and a converting facility in Pittsburg, Kansas. Pixelle expects to retain key employees from the firm.
The Appvion acquisition includes no production assets but will provide a portfolio of new customers for Pixelle’s line of carbonless papers and security products.
No production assets are included in the transaction. Pixelle will manufacture carbonless roll products for the firm’s former customers at its Chillicothe, Ohio, specialty paper mill.

Pixelle was formed in 2018 after New York investment firm Lindsay Goldberg purchased the specialty papers division of York-based Glatfelter for $323 million.
The company currently operates paper mills in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Maine.
