PeoplesBank opens new Lancaster branch

PeoplesBank is beefing up its presence in Lancaster County.

The York Township-based bank on Thursday opened a new branch in Manheim Township.

PeoplesBank in May filed an application with the Department of Banking and Securities to open the branch at 2343 Oregon Pike.

The new branch marks the bank’s 26th location and includes three drive-through lanes, ATM service and free paper shredding.

“We are excited to open our first full-service financial center on the Oregon Pike to better serve residents and businesses in the Lancaster community,” Craig L. Kauffman, president and CEO of PeoplesBank, said in a statement.

PeoplesBank operates another Lancaster County branch in East Hempfield Township and five branches at retirement communities across Lancaster County. They include: Homestead Village in East Hempfield Township, Landis Homes in Manheim Township, Luther Acres in Lititz, Masonic Village in West Donegal Township and Woodcrest Villa in East Hempfield Township.

PeoplesBank had $1.7 billion in assets, as of the second quarter, and operates 37 branches, including 11 satellite offices in retirement communities.

The Codorus Valley Bancorp. Inc. subsidiary posted net income of $6.1 million in the second quarter of 2018, up from $3.7 million in the second quarter of 2017, according to its most recent earnings report.
