Pennsylvania College of Art & Design begins work on Design Center

Construction has started on the 9,200-square-foot Design Center
at Pennsylvania College
of Art & Design’s downtown Lancaster
campus.

campus.

The $600,000 project will remodel unused space to house
classrooms, a high-tech design studio and the information-technology
department. It’s expected to be completed in late August, according to the
school.

“The Design
Center will assist our
students in achieving excellence across the board and in every major,”
said Academic Dean Matthew Ivan Cherry in a statement. “It will enable
students from all disciplines to connect their creative energies in one dynamic
environment.”

A formal dedication is planned for fall.
