Pennsylvania Podiatric Medical Association (PPMA) has named Dr. Edward Hutson Jr. president of its Board of Directors for the next term.

Hutson has been involved with PPMA, serving as president of The Lehigh Valley division for 10 years.

Hutson operates Easton Podiatry, with offices in Easton and Northampton and is affiliated with St. Luke’s Hospital.

A graduate of Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, he is a member of The American Podiatric Medical Association and The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

PPMA represents almost 900 podiatrists throughout the state of Pennsylvania at a time in which the profession is facing a shortage of podiatry school applicants.

“It will be imperative that we continue to work together and increase grassroots efforts to introduce this profession to our youth and young adults,” Hutson said. “This means encouraging our members to go into colleges and high schools in their area to introduce podiatry to students to increase podiatry school applications.”

PPMA helps its members obtain affordable malpractice insurance, is a voice for regulatory affairs, and provides its members continuing education credits.
