PA Biz Conversations with Dr. John J. Sygielski

In this segment, we welcome Dr. John J. Sygielski, president and CEO of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College. “Dr. Ski,” as he is affectionately known, became HACC’s seventh president in July 2011. He is on the board of directors of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), where he co-chairs the AACC’s Commission on Institutional Infrastructure and Transformation. Dr. Ski is also chair of the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges, which advocates for the state’s 14 community colleges. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he is the only member of his working-class family to receive a college education.
