Ownership changes at Lebanon County conference center

The Lantern Lodge Conference Center in Lebanon County has changed hands.

The Lantern Lodge Conference Center in Lebanon County has changed hands. Berks County-based Smita Real Estate agreed more than a year ago to purchase the Myerstown-based center, said Kaj Skov, who was the owner of the lodge since 1982.

Skov, who owns the Sterling Guest Hotel in Berks County and the George Washington Tavern in Lebanon County, sold the Lantern Lodge to Smita for nearly $1.5 million, said Ajay Shah, vice president of Smita. The deal closed last week, Skov said.

Skov said he also is looking to sell the George Washington Tavern, but will hold on to the Sterling Guest Hotel.

The Lantern Lodge has about 80 guest rooms, an on-site restaurant, a 12,000-square-foot convention center and meeting rooms. It hosts corporate events, wedding ceremonies, social events and small-scale conventions.
