Orrstown Financial Services Inc. of Shippensburg reported a loss of $8.2 million, or $1.02 per diluted share, for the quarter, compared with a profit of $3.8 million, or 48 cents per diluted share, in the first quarter of 2011.
Analysts had expected earnings of 4 cents per diluted share, according to Yahoo Finance.

Community Health Systems Inc. of Franklin,Tenn., reported earnings of $99.7 million, or 85 cents per diluted share, for the quarter, compared with $91.6 million, or 81 cents per diluted share, in the first quarter of 2011.
Analysts had expected earnings of 87 cents per diluted share, according to Yahoo Finance.
Community Health Systems is buying York County’s Memorial Health Systems Corp., a deal expected to close this year. Community Health Systems’ shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol CYH.

UGI Corp. of Valley Forge reported earnings of $133.4 million, or $1.18 per diluted share, for the quarter, compared with $149.4 million, or $1.32 per diluted share, in the first quarter of 2011.
Analysts had expected earnings of $1.22 per diluted share, according to Yahoo Finance.
UGI’s subsidiaries include gas and electric utilities that supply the midstate, as well as propane distributors and midstream energy resource companies. Its shares trade on the NYSE under the ticker symbol UGI.
