Thomas E. Strauss Inc. – which operates Miller’s Smorgasbord and several Amish-themed inns and restaurants across Lancaster County – announced several major changes in its leadership and management team.
The hospitality company, based in East Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, promoted Jennifer Buchter to president of operations at its Route 340 location, where the company owns 10 acres of land. The site in Leacock Township includes the AmishView Inn & Suites, the Plain & Fancy Farm Restaurant & Country Store, and Smokehouse BBQ and Brews.
Buchter has been with the company for 11 years where, according to Thomas E. Strauss CEO Albert Duncan, “She has proven to be a strong and effective leader with the ability to mold culture and produce results.”
Alongside Buchter is Danielle Dowlin, who will serve as director of sales at the company’s Route 340 properties and the properties owned by the company in East Lampeter Township, where Strauss operates Miller’s Smorgasbord & Bakery, the Quilt Shop at Miller’s and Locally Made Food Shop.
The company also announced a new general manager and assistant manager at the AmishView Inn & Suites, recently ranked the top three-star hotel in the country by online travel and reservation service Trivago. The new manager and assistant manager are Katie Gensemer and Benjamin Rowe, respectively.
With its popularity on online travel sites like Trivago and TripAdvisor, the company expanded in 2017 with the opening of Smokehouse BBQ and Brews in Leacock Township.
