Accounting

Hanover-based RLH CPAs & Business Advisors named Marcia Howe a senior accountant. She is a certified public accountant with more than 15 years of accounting experience and was employed with a local real estate developer. Patrick Markovic was named a junior accountant with the Westminster, Md., office. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from Lebanon Valley College. Megan Kennis and Albana Sayeedy were named accounting supervisors. They will oversee audit fieldwork, and train and develop audit team members. Kennis is a member of the employee benefit plan audit team, and Sayeedy oversees audits and financial engagements.

Architecture/ engineering

Lititz-based Beers Hoffman Architects named Naoko Elder a senior interior designer with the interior design department in its Lititz and Harrisburg offices. She has 10 years of design experience.

Lancaster-based Marotta/Main Architects named Tedd Williams a project manager and Revit technician. He was an AutoCAD instructor for seven years and he has more than 10 years of design, production department management and project coordination experience, as well as an associate degree in architectural technology from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.

Associations

Susquehanna Township-based Pennsylvania Credit Union Association named John Murga a board member. He will represent credit unions with $50 million to $250 million in assets. He is CEO of Pottsville, Schuylkill County-based Hidden River Credit Union. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and has an MBA from California State University.

Banking/finance

Mount Joy-based Union Community Bank named Dawn Ruppert manager of its Old Philadelphia Pike branch. She was an assistant branch manager with PNC Bank. She is a graduate of Carson Newman College.

Lower Allen Township-based Members 1st Federal Credit Union named Steven Swanson a relationship manager with its Market Plaza branch in Upper Allen Township. He was a regional sales manager with Inova Payroll. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. Veronica McBreen was named vice president of retail services. She has been with the credit union for 17 years, most recently as assistant vice president and regional manager.

Construction

Rapho Township-based The Witmer Group LLC named Harold J. Noll senior estimator of its masonry division. He has more than 40 years of construction experience. Apryl Beiler was named accounting manager. She will oversee payroll and accounts-payable employees, and handle accounts receivable.

West Earl Township-based Benchmark Construction Co. Inc. named Sammy Ben-Nasr a project estimator. He was an estimator with Lobar Construction and has more than nine years of construction and estimating experience. He has a bachelor’s degree in construction management and business administration from Pennsylvania College of Technology.

High Structural Erectors LLC of East Lampeter Township named Robert J. Poli general manager. He will oversee day-to-day operations, sales and estimating. He was director of sales and operations with Precast Services Inc.’s New England region. He has an associate degree in drafting and design from Mercer County Community College in New Jersey. Affiliate High Construction Co. named Michelle L. Miller an estimator and buyer. She will prepare cost estimates for negotiated and competitive bid projects, and for performing constructability reviews and conceptual estimating. She was a cost estimator and project manager. She has an associate degree in architectural engineering technology and a bachelor’s degree in structural design and construction engineering technology from Penn State. Rukesh Patel was named senior project manager of hospitality. He was director of development with Hersha Hospitality Trust in Philadelphia. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom.

East Hempfield Township-based B.R. Kreider & Son Inc. named Jared Borell an assistant estimator and soil product salesman. He was an operator’s assistant. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Penn State.

Manchester Township-based Wagman Inc. named John Walter Jr. general superintendent of auger cast piling. He has nearly 40 years of experience, most recently as an equity partner and vice president of a geotechnical services company in Maryland. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Government

Redevelopment Authority of the County of York elected Tom Englerth chairman. He was vice chairman. He is project development manager with York-based Site Design Concepts and has more than 20 years of land development design and surveying experience.

Law

York-based CGA Law Firm named Charles B. Calkins, Barbara Sardella, Peter D. Solymos and Robert M. Strickler of counsel. Calkins focuses on employment law, asset purchases, stock transfers and other matters. He has a bachelor’s degree from Wilkes University and a law degree from George Mason University. Sardella concentrates on dispute resolution and mediation. She also is secretary and general counsel with the Gettysburg Foundation. Prior to retirement, she was vice president and general counsel with Kinsley Construction Inc. She has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Bucknell University and a law degree from American University. Solymos focuses on civil litigation and domestic relations. He also represents Hallam Borough and other municipal bodies. He is a graduate of York Junior College and Penn State and has a law degree from the University of Tennessee. Strickler has been general counsel of the York County Solid Waste and Refuse Authority since 1971. He is involved in commercial real estate development and handles residential real estate closings. He was a legal officer with the U.S. Air Force. He has a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College and a law degree from Dickinson Law.

Harrisburg-based Skarlatos-Zonarich LLC named Jessica L. Wilson a member of its estate planning and administration group. She also focuses on real estate and civil litigation. She has a bachelor’s degree from Millersville University and a law degree from the University of Toledo.

Nonprofits

Lancaster-based CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health elected Thomas L. Regan chairman, Mary Kennedy vice chairwoman, Jodie
Reinhart treasurer and Chris Ballentine secretary. Regan is a dentist in private practice; Kennedy is a parent educator with Catholic Social Services in Philadelphia; Reinhart is vice president and CFO of Vision Corps; and Ballentine is a public relations and social media specialist with CNH Industrial. Lorraine Gutierrez, Lisa McCracken, Carol L. Powell, Michelle A. Reaser, Kathleen Troy Smyser and Elaine G. Ugolnik were elected to the board. Gutierrez is a caseworker with Lancaster County Children and Youth Agency; McCracken is senior vice president of senior living research and development with Ziegler; Powell is assistant superintendent of the School District of Lancaster; Reaser is chief nursing officer of Lancaster Regional Medical Center; Smyser is director of communications with Pennsylvania College of Art & Design; and Ugolnik is a partner with Appel & Yost.

Swatara Township-based Family Design Resources Inc., which administers Pennsylvania’s Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network, named Mike Isbell to its board of directors. He is a senior project manager with JPL and has a bachelor’s degree in radio, television and film from Messiah College.

York-based Children’s Aid Society named Emily Alvarez an art therapist with its Lehman Center. She has a bachelor’s degree in art, education and psychology from Swarthmore College and a master’s degree in art therapy from the School of Visual Arts in New York.

Harrisburg-based Christian Churches United of the Tri-County Area named Steve Schwartz director of development. He has 25 years of experience, most recently as executive director of Brethren Housing Association.
