Newsmakers: American Heart Association names executive director for Lancaster division

Law

Susquehanna Township-based Mette Evans & Woodside named Jacob H. Kiessling an attorney. He will focus on business planning, real estate and estate planning, and also be part of the agricultural law group. He has a degree in anatomy and physiology from Lycoming College and a law degree from the University of Baltimore.

York-based Stock and Leader named Daniel McGannon an attorney with its business and employment, municipal and school law groups. He will focus on all areas of labor and employment law. He was an administrator with the Delaware Office of Anti-Discrimination. He has a bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg University and a law degree from Widener University in Delaware.

Dr. Ericka Powell was named board president for the division. She is medical director of emergency medical services with Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading. She has a bachelor’s degree in English and economics from Franklin & Marshall College and a medical degree from Temple University. Kelly K. Cartwright was named a division board member. She is director of elementary education with Conestoga Valley School District. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Ohio University, a master’s degree in school administration from Western Maryland College and a doctorate in school administration from Widener University. Steven Jones and Donald Slavin were named co-chairmen of the Lancaster Heart Ball. Jones owns the Jones Family of Dealerships in Lancaster County, and Slavin is president of operations. Scott C. Rogers was named chairman of the 2017 York Heart Ball. He is president of York Township-based Glatfelter Agency. Michael Huff was named chairman of the 2017 Capital Region Heart Ball. He is vice president of cardiovascular and pulmonary services with PinnacleHealth System.
