As it seeks to pare costs and boost profits, manufacturer Armstrong Flooring Inc. has named a new financial chief.
Starting Sept. 1, the company’s CFO will be Ronald D. Ford, an executive with a diverse background in business.
Ford takes over for interim CFO Kimberly Z. Boscan. Boscan replaced CFO John “Jay” W. Thompson, who stepped down in April.
Before joining Armstrong, Ford was CFO and senior vice president at Silgan Containers, a California-based manufacturer of metal food containers. The company has a factory in the Lehigh Valley. He also has held leadershp roles at St. Clair Vision and Wells Real Estate Funds.
“He brings a wealth of experience in finance and general management leadership roles, and his focus on strategic thinking and driving results will be an asset for Armstrong Flooring. He is aligned with our vision for success and prepared to help us build additional value through our strategic priorities,” said Don Maier, president and CEO of Armstrong, which is based in Manor Township, Lancaster County.
Added Ford: “I am excited to be a part of an industry leader like Armstrong Flooring. The company’s strong brands, focus on innovation and extensive portfolio are truly a great opportunity. I look forward to applying my experience to help the company drive its growth and profitability initiatives.”
Earlier this week, the company reported a quarterly decline in sales and profits, as well as a decision to close two plants in the southeastern U.S.
