Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Co. is spending $2 million on a new chocolate spa in downtown Hershey.
MeltSpa by Hershey, which was announced in January, will open this fall at 11 E. Chocolate Ave. The new day spa is promising to offer signature Hershey’s dark chocolate treatments, including a sugar scrub, body wrap and hands and feet treatments.
The spa also will offer massages and facials, other body treatments, manicures, pedicures, hair styling, makeup, waxing and more. There will be nine treatment rooms, locker rooms and a relaxation area with refreshments for guests.
Reservations for September appointments are expected to be available in late July, officials said.
MeltSpa will occupy about 7,400 square feet in the building, which also will be the new home to JSDC Law Offices.
Hershey Entertainment has hired Weidner Construction Services in Upper Allen Township to head the construction project. Mechanical and electrical contractors include Harrisburg-based H.B. McClure Co. and Lower Allen Township-based SECCO Inc.
Earl Swensson Associates Inc. of Nashville, Tenn., is the architect and Laura Walker Spa Solutions of Ivoryton, Conn., is the project’s spa consultant.
