Insurance firm Millers Mutual Group Inc. has found a new home in Swatara Township after selling its headquarters building in Harrisburg last year.
The regional commercial property and casualty insurer will move to 3815 TecPort Drive in Swatara Township on Nov. 10, the former home of Geneia LLC, a health care analytics and technology subsidiary of Capital BlueCross. Geneia moved to Harrisburg last year.
The new Millers Mutual office will open for business on Nov. 13.
Due to space constraints, Millers had decided to sell its riverfront property at 805 N. Front St. to its neighbor, the Harrisburg Area YMCA. Millers sold the property in April 2016 for $750,000, but signed a lease with the YMCA to remain in the building until it found a new home.
The YMCA has said it plans to use the Millers property for additional parking and eventually the organization’s corporate offices.
Millers, a company with more than 70 employees, has been in the building at Front and Forster streets since 1937.
Scott Orndorff, the company’s president and CEO, said the office has served the company well throughout its history. But it’s time to make the transition to a larger space.
The new office is 21,000 square feet. Company spokeswoman Katie Gouldner said the TecPort Business Center was chosen because it is conveniently located off the interstate and it had the right space for a growing company.
“We are looking forward to our next chapter in our new home,” she said.
Millers was founded in 1890.
