A former state senator, Brubaker and his son Chris Brubaker are partners in the five year-old business advisory firm.
Principled Strategies provides community relations, state and local government relations, project management and corporate board services. Brubaker says the firm services a small group of clients that range from large international companies to small local business enterprises. His role has been to attract the right clientele for the firm, while executing critical functions on behalf of those customers with speed and confidentially.
“Our clientele give us very unique problems to solve and usually under a very tight timeline,” Brubaker says. “The firm is often asked to layout a pathway for success for our clients’ needs, and when our timeline does not match that of our client, we must have honest and frank discussions. Many times a condensed timeline can be met by outsourcing to other professionals, and we work together to meet our client’s needs. We don’t disclose our clients’ names, many times out of an abundance of confidentially. As new corporations are considering working with us, we can’t offer many successful client engagement stories, which often would make it easier to close a new client. Bottom line, our business model of keeping very lean and outsourcing when we need to works for us but much more importantly, works for our clients.”
