While Michelle Mowrer’s career has gone from strength to strength, one throughline is obvious: her interest in and work for the community.
“I have a strong passion for helping and supporting my community daily,” she says. “I feel that my support is going to help to grow and develop my community and make it a better place for all.”
Through her role as a regional vice president for Members 1st Federal Credit Union — specifically serving the Cumberland, Adams and York County markets — she’s the direct supervisor for over 50 associates.
“When working with this many teams, creativity is a part of many decisions,” Mike Wilson, chief marketing officer and chief relationship officer for Members 1st, says in his nomination letter. “Michelle is able to do this on a daily basis by helping members become financially stronger through saving money, making money or saving them time.”
Mowrer also sits on multiple committees within Members 1st, including the STAR (Striving To Achieve Results) development program, the Delivering Unparalleled Experiences (DUE) recognition associate resource group and the Women in Leadership associate resource group.
“The mentorship and leadership I have provided others has helped them to advance professionally and personally as well as serve their communities and make a difference,” she says. “I invest my whole self into mentoring and helping others grow and expect nothing in return.”
