Members 1st Federal Credit Union is opening two new branches later this month and beefing up its insurance services.
Two new branches in Halifax and Red Lion are slated to open July 21, and another branch on South Queen Street in York, is slated to open later this year.
The average branch is roughly 2,500 square-feet and will employ about seven people, adding 21 new associates to the credit union’s current 1,100 employees.
In addition to extending its branch network, Members 1st is upping its game in the insurance arena.
The credit union is partnering its independent insurance agency with Iscential, an insurance company based in Texas.
“This partnership allows Members 1st to take customer service levels to new heights and to be able to serve more members, more efficiently, in a timely manner,” George Nahodil, president & CEO of Members 1st, said in a statement.
The partnership, which took effect July 1, will provide agency management and customer service support in each of its 60 branches. The move will add 30 insurance agents to the credit union’s payroll, according to Mike Wilson, senior vice president of marketing at Members 1st.
“We will be able to meet members’ consumer and commercial insurance needs directly from branches across our entire footprint. This allows Members 1st to expand our services reach so that we can deploy insurance representatives to all of our branches,” Wilson said.
Headquartered in Lower Allen Township, Members 1st serves more than 375,000 members.
