The Melting Pot of Harrisburg will be at 3350 Paxton St. in The Scottsdale Plaza,
across the street from The Harrisburg Mall.
The project is still in the design phase and, said Sandy
D’Elosua, spokeswoman for the restaurant. Owners Andrew Holder and Ben Sipola expect
to open the restaurant by October, Phillips said. The restaurant’s Web site states ground will be broken soon.
Holder, who is from Virginia,
owns a Melting Pot franchise in Virginia
Beach, Va., Phillips
said. Sipola is from the Harrisburg
area, she said.
D’Elosua did not disclose a development price or the size of the restaurant.
Most Melting Pot restaurants are approximately 6,000 square
feet, D’Elosua said. They serve steak, lobster, shrimp, pork and chicken fondue style. They also offer cheese fondues
and dessert fondues, she said.
There are 130 Melting Pots across the U.S. and 36 are under development,
D’Elosua said.
The restaurants feature an intimate setting with dim
lighting, she said. There is a secluded “Lovers Lane” section for couples in the
restaurants and other sections suited for families, she said.
