Passenger traffic at Harrisburg International Airport increased 12.8 percent in May when compared to the same period last year.

Passenger traffic at Harrisburg International Airport increased 12.8 percent in May when compared to the same period last year.

The 115,695 passengers that used the airport in May made it the busiest month at the airport since June 2005, according to the Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority. The authority owns and operates the airport. The airlines that provide service at the airport reported that 80 percent of the available seats were filled in May, which is a new monthly record at the airport. This is up from May 2006 when 71 percent of the available seats were filled. The number of available seats increased 2 percent last month when compared to the year-ago period.
