Lori Maley
President and CEO
Bank of Bird-in-Hand
Maley has served five years as president and CEO of Bank of Bird-in-Hand.
Regarding her leadership style, she said, “It might sound like a cliché, but I believe in leading by example. My father once told me to ‘work hard and keep your nose to the grindstone’. I place the highest emphasis on diligence, integrity, and serving the customers. I also strive to create a culture that emphasizes fun. I want people to be enthusiastic about coming to work and know that they are making a difference. At the bank we also believe in mentoring to prepare the next generation of leaders.”
Maley entered banking after a career in public accounting. She said her job as a CPA exposed her to many different industries, but the one that really caught her interest was banking. She liked the professional atmosphere and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the community.
Outside of work, Maley enjoys reading books and playing with her two German shorthaired pointers and parrot, a red Stella’s lorikeet. When time and weather permit, she also likes to garden.
