York-based Logos Academy has partnered with a Harrisburg school to offer early childhood education programs.
The academy affiliated in late August with New City School in Harrisburg. As part of the affiliation, New City has begun operating its preschool and kindergarten programming as Logos Academy Harrisburg.
New City, located at 251 Verbeke St., was founded three years ago for students in preschool and kindergarten. Similar to Logos Academy York, the school is an independent, Christ-centered institution.
Logos Academy Harrisburg serves between 40 to 50 students and has six employees. It plans on adding classes and students. The school’s current building can host hold programming for kindergarten through fourth grade, which would mean approximately 100 students, said Otto Monroy, director of advancement at Logos Academy York.
The Harrisburg school would need additional accommodations if it continues to expand, he added.
Logos Academy York has 280 students in kindergarten through grade 12 and has a staff of 60.
