Leslie Penkunas of Lititz has been named the new editor of Central Penn Parent magazine, a monthly publication that reaches families in Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties.
Central Penn Parent is a sister publication to the Central Penn Business Journal, both of which are owned by BridgeTower Media, a division of Gatehouse Media.
Penkunas brings over 20 years of editing and writing experience to the role. For the past decade, she has been editor of Nola Family, a parenting magazine that serves New Orleans.
In her new position, Penkunas will be the voice and face of Central Penn Parent — in print, online and in person at various events. Having worked remotely for Nola Family, this is a welcome change for her.
“Ever since moving here eight years ago, I’ve turned to Central Penn Parent for news and information to help me raise my family,” Penkunas said. “I’m looking forward to working where I live and being a part of a great resource for the local parenting community.”
As an active member of the Lititz community, Penkunas has been on the Warwick School District’s board of school directors since 2015.
Penkunas has a bachelor’s degree in illustration from Rhode Island School of Design and completed master’s program coursework in publications design at the University of Baltimore.
