Lancaster General Health has made a tally of the nation’s 50 best hospitals compiled by a Golden, Colo.-based ratings group.
HealthGrades based its ranking on 11 years worth of data from 140 million Medicare records concerning mortality and complication rates for 26 procedures and treatments, according to the firm’s website.
Lancaster General is one of four Pennsylvania facilities to make the 2011 list and the only one in Central Pennsylvania; 28 cities across 19 states are represented.
