Letter: Who needs more stores?

In response to “Commercial development grows slowly in Lancaster County,” in the Aug. 8 edition:

It may be true that Lancaster County
does not have as many shopping areas as other places, but so what? All that you
get with more stores is more traffic. I rarely go to the Park City
(Center) or any area around Harrisburg Pike because it is a guaranteed traffic
snarl. We are living just fine without these stores now, so why do we need them
in the future?

Rather than have an abundance of stores (that sell
trinkets), it would be better to have manufacturing facilities that offer
living-wage jobs.

County
