Letter: Left-wing group’s data are inaccurate

//February 23, 2009

It is disturbing seeing a respected publication like yours
utilizing data (“Funds would fill Pa. budget
gaps,”
Feb. 6) from the Center for American Progress to determine the
simulative effect that H.R.1 will have on the economy of Pennsylvania. The nonpartisan Congressional
Budget Office review has already established that there is very little in the
way of economic stimulus in this act and an awful lot of increased funding for
education, health care and other entitlements that do nothing to stimulate the
economy. The Center for American Progress data are a blatant misrepresentation
of what constitutes an economic stimulus.
