Leola primary care practice joins LG Health

Leola Family Health Center has joined Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Physicians.

The agreement, which took effect June 18, means that the practice’s three clinicians and nine staff members are now employees of Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine Health System. Terms the deal were not disclosed.

The clinicians include Dr. Stephen Martell and and two physician assistants: Andrea Bunker and Laura DeBruin. DeBruin is the granddaughter of practice founder Dr. Harold Stauffer. Her father, Dr. Richard H. Niemeyer, recently retired from the practice.


Located in Upper Leacock Township, Leola Family Health was founded in 1977.

The practice, now named LG Health Physicians Family Medicine Leola, provides comprehensive health care services, including wellness and preventive care and treatment for acute illnesses and injuries.

Lancaster General Health Physicians is a network of more than 300 primary care and specialty physicians, at more than 40 offices throughout the region.

Lancaster General Health is a member of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, also known as Penn Medicine.
