Serving Cornwall Manor for more than 33 years, Lee Stickler was named President of the retirement community in March 2019 after 30 years of senior leadership experience as the Chief Financial Officer and then as Executive Vice President. In addition to successfully leading Cornwall Manor through a pandemic, Stickler has played a key role in Cornwall Manor being regarded as one of the more financially strong and operationally sound retirement communities in the region.
Founded in 1949, Cornwall Manor offers diversified and high-quality housing, health care and related services for individuals to achieve a retirement and aging lifestyle they find fulfilling in a secure, caring and Christian environment.
In support of this mission, Stickler has led Cornwall Manor in implementing numerous innovative initiatives over the years including the development of a program to bring artists in residence to Cornwall’s campus to provide participatory arts workshops.
More recently, Stickler led Cornwall Manor in becoming the first retirement community in the country to partner with the renowned Rodale Institute to develop an organic farm on-site, providing a source for fresh, organically grown vegetables to be incorporated into Cornwall’s dining program, and used at home by residents and staff. In addition to volunteer opportunities for residents within the organic farm, Cornwall is creating separate individual vegetable gardens adjacent to the organic farm for resident use.
“We sought to partner with the industry experts at Rodale Institute to establish the Trailside Organic Farm on Cornwall Manor’s Woods Campus to strongly support our wellness philosophy, which is based on the principle that each resident is entitled to enjoy and maintain the highest level of health, dignity, independence and activity,” Lee Stickler, Cornwall Manor President and CEO said.
Always looking for ways to maintain and enhance the quality of life that makes Cornwall Manor a special place, Stickler is admired, as a person and as a leader by his board of trustees and by the Cornwall Manor staff and residents.
