Hillsborough, New Jersey-based Larken Associates broke ground on a new project at its Dover Township, York County apartment complex that will add 107 residential units, two new buildings for residents and a series of renovations to the current complex.

In 2019, Larken Associates purchased The Reserve at Copper Chase—a 132 residential unit apartment complex on nearly 30 acres at 3145 Honey Run Drive. The real estate developer said on Friday that it broke ground on a second complex on the site, The Enclave at Copper Chase.

The Enclave is planned to add an additional 107 residential units, clubhouse and fitness center. Larken will also be renovating The Reserve’s existing on-site pool and lounge and will be replacing roofing and making exterior repairs at the complex’s current units.

“When we acquired The Reserve at Copper Chase last year, we knew that it posed a tremendous value-add opportunity,” said David Gardner, president and CEO of Larken. “We are confident that the successful execution of our phase II plans will allow us to unlock the inherent value in this property while enhancing the complex for the tenants who call it home.”

Larken owns or manages about 2,000 residential units in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The developer recently purchased The View at Mackenzi, a 224-unit apartment community at 2035 Patriot Street in York.
