Accidents involving large trucks declined on national and state highways in 2006.
The number of large-truck accidents on Pennsylvania roadways declined by 8.2 percent compared to 2005, according to statistics from the state Department of Transportation. There were 6,654 large-truck accidents in 2006, down from 7,250 in 2005. The number of fatalities in those accidents increased slightly, from 187 in 2005 to 191 last year.
