Lancaster neighborhood to get new townhouses

Construction has started on an effort to build 10 new townhouses and rehabilitate six others in the southeast part of Lancaster, according to Lancaster-based SACA Development Corp.

Construction has started on an effort to build 10 new townhouses and rehabilitate six others in the southeast part of Lancaster, according to Lancaster-based SACA Development Corp.

The $2.9 million project, which focuses on the 500 block of Palm Street, is intended to revitalize the blighted neighborhood and promote homeownership there.

Several organizations are funding the project, including the City of Lancaster, the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and Fulton Bank.
