Lancaster General Hospital is one of the top 50 hospitals in the country, according to a report released today by HealthGrades, a Colorado-based health care ratings organization. Lancaster General was the only midstate hospital to make the list.
HealthGrades identified top hospitals by examining hospitalization records from nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide. To be listed, facilities had to demonstrate clinical outcomes among the top 5 percent in the nation across 27 different procedures and diagnoses. The hospitals also had to maintain this level of care from 1999 through 2006.
Lancaster General was one of seven Pennsylvania hospitals to make HealthGrades' list. Too see the entire list, visit HealthGrades’ Web site.
