Lancaster convention center to open in April
The Lancaster County Convention Center is scheduled to open April
21, the Lancaster County Convention Center Authority and Penn Square Partners today announced.
Construction of the $170 million facility will be almost
finished by the end of March, making the complex capable of being occupied for
employee training and other activities. More than 90 events have been scheduled
at the facility.
The center will contain about 220,000 square feet of
meeting and event space. Its 46,395-square-foot exhibit hall will be able to
host up to 5,000 guests, depending on the seating style, or nearly 300
trade-show booths. The center will be adjoined to the 300-room Marriott
Lancaster at Penn Square,
which is being developed by Lancaster-based Penn Square Partners.
