Brister is responsible for advancing WellSpan’s long-range strategy to build an engaged, diverse workforce representative of its diverse communities, and an equitable and inclusive workplace where individuals from every background and lived experience have the opportunity to excel in their chosen career path.
She was promoted to the position of Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer in July 2021. However, she has led WellSpan’s diversity and inclusion efforts since 2019.
Brister is really proud to have earned this strategic leadership role at WellSpan, and to see the work elevated to the highest levels of the organization. She said it’s a role that is 30 years in the making and reflects the perfect combination of her 30-years of professional expertise and personal passion.
She said she believes she is at her best when she’s unselfishly giving her time and authentically sharing her talents. “I’ve tried to model this belief in my roles as a daughter, mother, sister, aunt, friend, team member, leader and community member. For me, this is the foundation of a life well-lived,” Brister said.
For fun, Brister spends time with family and friends traveling and enjoying shared experiences. She also likes to read, listen to music and exercise.
