President
Arthur Funk & Sons Inc
Funk said spending time with employees, in the office and out at the jobsite, is vital to the company’s success. “Working together results in successful projects,” he said. Funk enjoys working with customers — learning about their project goals, educating and assisting them, and finally delivering to them a project that exceeds their expectations.
In 1996, he joined the family-owned business as project manager, a position he held until six months ago, when he became president of the firm.
“I love creating a real sense of TEAM, encouraging collaboration and commitment with determination to meet the project goals,” he said. “This culture permeates our company making a difference in our projects, employees, customers and ultimately in our communities, which is most rewarding.”
Funk said his parents provided so many lessons. “Two stand out. First, faith in God, which gives a compass to live by and hope that seems to be in short supply today. Second, the importance of putting others first, and listening to their stories, which creates strong communities and relationships,” he said.
