Kathryn “Katie” Mason

Kathryn “Katie” Mason

Partner
JSDC Law Offices

Mason joined JSDC Law Offices after working as an attorney at Elliott Greenleaf and Stevens & Lee.  Her general law practice has an emphasis on regulatory and transactional matters, including business transactions, banking, workout and foreclosure, real estate, commercial litigation, municipal law, funeral law and bankruptcy.

“Although probably not meant to be a compliment at the time, my dad used to tell me when I was young that I was excellent at arguing so I should become a lawyer,” Mason recalled. “Mind you, my dad and I are two of a kind which I’m sure is what led to some of those well-thought-out arguments.” Still, that comment is planted a seed and “from there, through a series of great opportunities, meeting some wonderful people in the industry and having a valued support system, my path was set.”

Mason practices general law with an emphasis on regulatory and transactional matters, including banking, real estate, commercial litigation, municipal law, insurance regulatory law, corporate transactions and real estate tax matters. “While changes in the market and economy impact my practice at a local level,” she said, “I think one of the biggest global changes to our industry … is the integration of developing technology, which impacts the practice of law on almost every level.”
