John J. Herman, MBA FACHE
CEO
Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health
Herman joined Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health as its CEO March 1, 2021.
He said he has the privilege of working with a remarkable and talented team at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, each of whom brings their best talents, demonstrated commitment and passion to work daily.
“One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is creating an environment that supports these individuals, which allows our organization to deliver life-changing, advanced medical services to our community,” he said. “Providing exceptional, advanced acute care will always be a core competency, but where we provide care is changing. As consumer expectations continue to evolve, we are developing new delivery channels focused on meeting our patients where they are.”
“By expanding our ambulatory, in-home and digital services, we will give our patients and community frictionless access to care, so they can be as healthy as possible,” Herman said.
Mary Hoffman was the first CEO Herman has worked with.
“Mary was passionate about building relationships and making connections, not just with her team but also with her community. I think this is one of the most important capabilities for an effective leader. I try to emulate what Mary did daily and create strong connections and relationships with my team and people in our community,” Herman said.
