Herman has served as Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health (LG Health) CEO for two years. He provides strategic, financial and operational executive leadership for the LG Health system–from its hospitals and suburban and downtown outpatient pavilions to its physician network and major service lines. He is also responsible for ensuring that the services delivered by LG Health are consistent with the organization’s mission and accessible to all people in the communities it serves.
He says one of the biggest challenges facing all of the country’s health systems is staffing. “We continue to proactively address this through effective employee strategies that build personal and meaningful connections among our leaders and front-line staff. These relevant relationships will foster a stronger understanding of employees’ needs and, along with offering the robust training and resources essential for career development, lead to a skilled, actively engaged workforce,” Herman says.
